The Six LIGHTS Profile
The Six LIGHTS are six areas of spiritual discernment rooted in St Paul’s prayer in Philippians 1:9–11: love growing in knowledge and insight, discerning what is best, living with integrity, and bearing fruit through Jesus Christ. They invite you to notice communion, awareness, purpose, openness to the Spirit, truth, and life in Christ.
This is not a test of holiness or personality. It is a structured reflection on patterns you may have noticed during the last four to six weeks. Its purpose is to help you recognize which areas already support your discernment and which may welcome further prayer, formation, and practice.
You will complete six short sections of ten mixed statements. Read the smaller explanation beneath each statement, then choose the response that is true of you most of the time—not the answer you think you ought to give. The statements are mixed so that you can respond naturally without trying to identify which LIGHT is being considered.
If you are unsure between two responses, choose the one that comes closest to your usual experience. You can return to the profile during your months of practice to notice what is growing and where more light may be welcome.
